About Bowling Green State University Online

The state of Ohio chartered Bowling Green State University in 1910 in an effort to train and develop professional teachers. The first class was about 300 students in 1914. Today, more than 21,000 students enroll in BGSU a year. BGSU is a public four-year accredited institution. Students can choose from more than 200 undergraduate programs as well as graduate and doctoral degrees. The first PhD program in photochemical science was offered at BGSU as well as one of the first undergraduate programs in neuroscience.
